After years of leading big firms, small firms and even one in-between – David launched Grace Dickerson in 2005

David Dickerson
Founder and Principal

A man. His dog. And one heck of a ride.

David is a senior-level marketing professional with some 30 years of experience in marketing communications for the aviation industry. Known for his high standards of service and strategic vision, his work is seen worldwide and he is a frequently quoted source for aerospace publications and industry resource groups.

David’s career highlights include strategic oversight and management of projects in behalf of several Fortune 500 clients, including IBM, Kimberly Clark, and Textron, as well as both Continental and American Airlines.

Capitalizing on his ability to motivate markets and see the potential in new programs, David has served as account director and strategist for many industry leaders, including Embraer, Cessna, Bell Helicopter, Pilatus, Aerospatiale, AOPA, Allianz, and American Eurocopter.

David’s work through the years includes the successful global launch of numerous significant products and programs, such as the Embraer EMB-145 and E-Jet families of commercial airliners, the Embraer Legacy line of executive jets, the Dallas Airmotive and Signature Flight Support service networks, the Pilatus PC-12NG and Socata TBM-700 business turboprops, the Piaggio P180 Avanti, and the revolutionary Gogo Biz airborne Internet service from Aircell.

David also provided senior-level marketing strategy and counsel for the rebirth of Denver’s legendary Van Gilder Insurance Corporation, for the rebranding of AOPA’s aviation insurance services, and for the re-launch of Embraer’s Services & Support group.

Most recently, he has overseen Cessna Aircraft Company’s provocative RISE campaign and the launch of Quest Aircraft’s new KODIAK backcountry aircraft, as well as the re-branding and re-launch of agricultural aviation icon Thrush Aircraft Company in Albany, Georgia.

In military and government circles David has overseen the introductions of the V-22 Osprey, the Rockwell Hellfire II missile system, and the AH-1W, OH-58D and AS365 helicopters. He also crafted the strategic repositioning of Embraer’s Defense Systems division and led the team responsible for marketing Europe’s first training helicopter for the U.S. Army, and the first advanced EMS helicopters to enter the North American market.

David is a pilot with commercial multi-engine and instrument ratings in fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. He attended the Marine Military Academy and the United States Air Force Academy and now resides in Colorado with his wife and two sons. He has been a Task Force Leader for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids program, serves on the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Partner Steering Committee, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. And, yes, his dog still comes with him to work on most days.
